The next morning, the headlines appeared everywhere.
"LANGLEY FAMILY ACCUSED OF CORPORATE FRAUD AFTER TWO-DECADE COVER-UP EXPOSED."
For the first time in decades, the Langley name was no longer associated with wealth.
It was associated with scandal.
Victor lost everything quickly.
Business partners abandoned him.
Investors withdrew.
The same doors that had always opened for him suddenly closed.
Money could protect him from many things.
But not the truth.
Meanwhile, Elena stood inside her father’s old office.
The room had been restored exactly as it was before everything was taken away.
She touched the wooden desk where her father once worked.

A knock came at the door.
The manager entered.
“Your father would be proud.”
Elena smiled sadly.
“I wish he could have seen this.”
The manager placed an old photograph on the desk.
It showed Thomas Carlisle standing beside a young Elena.
Behind the photo was a handwritten message.

Elena read the words silently.
