Chapter 1: The Woman Who Saved His Life

The wedding hall had never been so silent.

Only minutes earlier, hundreds of guests had been celebrating the beginning of a perfect love story.

Now…

They were watching a nightmare unfold.

The giant screen above the stage continued playing the video.

Frame by frame.

Second by second.

Showing Victoria—the woman wearing a wedding dress worth millions—walking into the private preparation room before the ceremony.

Showing her opening a small hidden bottle.

Showing her carefully pouring the liquid into Alexander’s wine glass.

No one spoke.

No one moved.

The man who was supposed to kiss his bride was now staring at evidence of her plan to murder him.

Alexander’s face had lost all color.

His eyes moved slowly from the screen…

to Victoria…

then to the untouched wine glass on the floor.

“Victoria…” he whispered.

The woman who had promised him forever could barely breathe.

“That’s not what it looks like,” she said quickly.

But even she knew how weak those words sounded.

The guests began whispering.

“She tried to kill him…”

“On their wedding day?”

“How could someone do that?”

Victoria looked around desperately.

Her perfect image was collapsing.

The wealthy family.

The luxury lifestyle.

The innocent bride everyone admired.

Everything was disappearing in front of her.

Then Alexander turned toward Clara, the maid who had stopped the toast.

“Who are you?” he asked.

The maid lowered her eyes.

“My name is Clara.”

“Why did you risk everything to save me?”

Clara hesitated.

For years, she had carried a secret.

A secret that could destroy more than just a wedding.

“Because…” she whispered.

“I knew what she was planning.”

The entire room froze.

Alexander stepped closer.

“You knew?”

Clara nodded slowly.

“I saw Victoria meeting someone three days ago.”

“Who?”

Clara looked toward Victoria.

“The man who gave her the poison.”

Victoria’s expression changed instantly.

For the first time…

she looked afraid.

Security immediately surrounded the bride.

But before anyone could question her, Victoria suddenly smiled.

A cold, emotionless smile.

“You think you know the truth?”

Her voice became quieter.

“You have no idea what you married into.”

Alexander stared at her.

“What does that mean?”

Victoria looked at the crowd.

Then at Clara.

“You should ask your maid why she waited until the last second to save you.”

Clara’s face went pale.

Alexander noticed.

May you like

And for the first time…

he wondered if there was another secret hidden behind the poison.
