CHAPTER 1 — The Man Who Never Lost a Case

The emergency room doors opened violently.

Harrison Cole walked beside the doctors as they rushed Khloe through the hallway.

For the first time in his career, the man who had faced murderers, billionaires, and corrupt politicians without fear looked completely powerless.

His sister was behind those doors.

His nephew was fighting for his life.

And the woman responsible was still standing free.

A nurse stopped him.

“Sir, you can’t go any further.”

Harrison stared at her.

Not angrily.

Not aggressively.

Just silently.

The nurse immediately understood.

This was not a normal family member.

This was Harrison Cole.

The attorney who had made entire corporations collapse with a single lawsuit.

“I need updates every five minutes,” Harrison said quietly.

The nurse nodded.

“Of course.”

Then the doors closed.

Leaving him alone in the hallway.

For several minutes, Harrison did nothing.

He simply stared at the operating room lights.

Then his phone rang.

His assistant.

“Mr. Cole, the police are questioning Vanessa Kensington.”

Harrison looked down.

“Good.”

“There’s something else.”

“What?”

A pause.

“Richard Harrington hired an attorney already.”

Harrison’s expression didn’t change.

Of course he did.

Richard was not a man who admitted mistakes.

He was a man who paid people to make problems disappear.

“Find everything,” Harrison said.

“Everything about Richard Harrington.”

His assistant hesitated.

“Sir
”

“Yes?”

“If you do this personally, it becomes dangerous.”

Harrison looked toward the operating room.

His voice became colder.

“They pushed my sister down thirty marble steps.”

A pause.

“They made my unborn nephew fight for his life.”

Another pause.

“I’m not looking for a settlement.”

“I’m looking for the truth.”

Three hours later

The doctor finally walked out.

Harrison immediately stood.

The doctor removed his mask.

“Mr. Cole
”

Harrison’s heart stopped.

“How is she?”

The doctor took a breath.

“She lost a dangerous amount of blood.”

Harrison closed his eyes briefly.

“But?”

The doctor continued.

“Your sister is stable.”

A small breath escaped him.

“And the baby?”

“The baby survived.”

For the first time that night

Harrison Cole looked human.

His shoulders dropped.

His eyes became wet.

“Can I see her?”

The doctor nodded.

“Only for a few minutes.”

Inside the hospital room, Khloe looked smaller than Harrison remembered.

The strong woman who always protected everyone else was lying there connected to machines.

When she opened her eyes, she smiled weakly.

“Harry
”

Harrison immediately grabbed her hand.

“I’m here.”

Her eyes filled with tears.

“I’m sorry.”

His face tightened.

“For what?”

“I couldn’t protect my baby.”

Harrison leaned closer.

“Khloe.”

His voice was firm.

“You protected your baby every second.”

A tear rolled down her cheek.

“Richard watched.”

Silence.

“He saw everything.”

Harrison already knew.

But hearing it from her made something inside him break.

“He didn’t come.”

“No.”

Khloe looked away.

“He didn’t even move.”

Harrison slowly stood.

And at that moment

Richard Harrington’s fate was sealed.

The next morning, Harrison entered the courthouse.

Not as a brother.

Not as a victim.

As an attorney.

The reporters immediately surrounded him.

“Mr. Cole, is it true your sister was attacked?”

“Are you representing Khloe Harrington?”

“Will Vanessa Kensington go to prison?”

Harrison stopped.

The cameras focused on him.

Everyone expected anger.

A threat.

A dramatic statement.

Instead, Harrison adjusted his suit.

And calmly said:

“My sister was attacked.”

A pause.

“The person responsible will face the consequences.”

Another pause.

“And anyone who helped hide the truth
”

His eyes became colder.

“Will stand beside her.”

The reporters went silent.

May you like

Because everyone knew.

Harrison Cole had entered the war.
