Chapter 2: The Secret Victoria Buried

Adrian moved Elena into a private guest residence away from the mansion.
Not because he wanted to hide her.
Because he wanted to protect her.
For the first time in years, Elena slept without fear.
But she still struggled to understand one thing.
Why?
Why had Victoria done this?
The answer came from someone unexpected.
Victoria’s former assistant.
A woman named Claire.
She arrived at Adrian’s office with tears in her eyes.
“I should have spoken years ago.”
Adrian looked at her coldly.
“You knew?”
Claire nodded.
“I knew Victoria paid people to separate you from Elena.”
“She was afraid.”
“Afraid of what?”
Claire looked at the ultrasound photo on Adrian’s desk.
“Your child.”
Adrian frowned.
“My child?”
Claire swallowed.
“Victoria believed if Elena gave birth, you would never choose anyone else.”
“She knew you loved Elena more than anything.”
The truth became clear.
Victoria didn’t want Adrian’s money.
She wanted something more dangerous.
She wanted his heart.
That evening, Adrian confronted Victoria.
She was standing in the mansion library when he entered.
For a moment, she smiled.
Then she saw his expression.
The smile disappeared.
“You know.”
Adrian didn’t answer.
He placed the documents on the table.
Victoria looked down.
Her face went pale.
“You investigated me.”
“No.”
Adrian’s voice was calm.
“You forced me to discover the truth.”
Victoria’s eyes filled with anger.
“She was nothing!”
“She was a maid!”
The words echoed through the room.
Adrian’s expression changed.
Because those words revealed everything.
Victoria had never hated Elena because of what she did.
She hated her because of who she was.
Someone without wealth.
Someone without status.
Someone Adrian loved.
“You destroyed five years of my life,” Adrian whispered.
Victoria stepped closer.
“I gave you a better life.”
“No.”
Adrian shook his head.
“You gave me a beautiful prison.”
Victoria refused to accept defeat.
She leaked rumors online.
She told the media Elena was a liar.
She claimed Elena had returned only because Adrian was rich.
But Adrian expected this.
He released everything.
The hidden payments.
The fake documents.
The witnesses.
The evidence proving Victoria’s betrayal.
The world watched as the woman who appeared perfect became exposed.
But Adrian wasn’t interested in revenge.
He had something more important.
Elena.
And their baby.
Two months later, Elena gave birth.
A healthy baby boy.
Adrian held his son for the first time.
His eyes filled with tears.
“I almost lost you.”
Elena watched quietly.
“You didn’t.”
Adrian looked at her.
“I did.”
He gently held her hand.
“I lost five years with you.”
“And I will spend the rest of my life making sure you never feel alone again.”
May you like
For the first time in years…
Elena smiled.
