The Mafia Boss’s Baby Wouldn’t Stop Crying—Until the Waitress Discovered Why

The Baby Had Been Crying for Almost an Hour

The baby had been crying for nearly an hour.

Inside the luxury restaurant, no one dared to move.

Not the guests.

Not the waitstaff.

Not even the armed bodyguards standing around Adrian Romano's table.

Everyone in Chicago knew that name.

Everyone knew what happened to people who crossed him.

But Emma noticed something strange.

The baby wasn't crying like he was hungry.

He was crying like he was in pain.

Adrian held the child stiffly in his arms, his jaw locked tight, his eyes colder than the polished marble beneath his feet.

A waiter leaned toward her and whispered,

"Don't go near them."

But Emma couldn't keep watching.

She stepped away from the service station.

The entire restaurant fell silent.

One of the bodyguards moved in and blocked her path.

Emma looked past him at the screaming baby.

"Please," she said softly. "Let me hold him."

Adrian slowly lifted his eyes to meet hers.

For one endless moment...

No one breathed.

Then he gave a single nod.

Emma carefully took the baby into her arms.

Within seconds...

His cries began to soften.

Then they stopped completely.

The room froze.

Emma gently ran her hand across the baby's back.

The expression on her face changed instantly.

"Something's wrong," she whispered.

Before Adrian could respond, one of his bodyguards burst through the private entrance.

His face had gone completely pale.

He leaned close and whispered something into Adrian's ear.

May you like

Adrian shot to his feet so fast that his chair crashed backward onto the marble floor.

Someone had used the baby's cries as a distraction.
