Chapter 1 – The Boy Nobody Wanted Near Her

The ballroom remained silent.
Hundreds of people stood frozen beneath the golden chandeliers, unable to understand what they had just witnessed.
A few minutes earlier, everyone had seen only what was obvious.
A poor barefoot boy.
A dirty shirt.
Torn pants.
A child who looked like he belonged on the streets, not inside the most expensive charity gala in the city.
And a little girl from one of the wealthiest families in the country.
A girl who had spent five years sitting in that wheelchair.
Her father, Alexander Whitmore, had spent millions of dollars searching for a cure.
Doctors from around the world had examined his daughter, Emma.
Every specialist had given him the same answer.
“She may never walk again.”
Alexander never accepted those words.
But after years of disappointment, even he had started losing hope.
Until tonight.
Until a strange little boy walked into his daughter’s life.
The moment Emma stood, the entire room changed.
The guests who had looked down on the boy moments earlier now stared at him with disbelief.
Alexander slowly approached his daughter.
“Emma…”
His voice broke.
The little girl looked at him while still holding the boy’s hand.
“Daddy…”
A tear rolled down her cheek.
“I forgot what it felt like.”
Alexander fell to his knees in front of her.
He didn’t care about the expensive suit.
He didn’t care about the people watching.
His daughter was standing.
That was all that mattered.
But then his eyes moved toward the boy.
The boy had already stepped back.
Like he didn’t believe he deserved to be part of the moment.
Alexander noticed something.
The boy wasn’t smiling.
He wasn’t proud.
He looked relieved.
Almost like he had completed something he was sent there to do.
“Who are you?” Alexander asked quietly.
The boy looked down.
“My name is Noah.”
“Where are your parents?”
The boy became silent.
That silence answered everything.
Emma looked at Noah.
“Why did you come here?”
Noah slowly reached into his pocket and pulled out a small folded piece of paper.
His hands trembled.
“My mom told me…”
He swallowed.
“She said I needed to find you.”
Alexander frowned.
“Find me?”
Noah nodded.
“She said only you could help.”
Alexander opened the paper.
And the moment he saw what was written inside…
His expression changed completely.
Because the handwriting was familiar.
May you like
Impossible.
It belonged to someone he thought was gone forever.
