CHAPTER 2 — The Camera That Destroyed Her Lie

The private hospital suite remained silent.

Too silent.

Marcus Thorne stood in the doorway, staring at the woman he loved lying helplessly on the marble floor.

For years, people had described Marcus as a man who never lost control.

A billionaire.

A businessman.

A man who could destroy companies with a single phone call.

But at that moment

None of that mattered.

He wasn’t a billionaire.

He was a husband watching his pregnant wife bleeding on the floor.

“Khloe
”

His voice cracked slightly.

He rushed forward.

“Don’t move,” he whispered, kneeling beside her.

Khloe’s fingers immediately grabbed his sleeve.

Her eyes were filled with fear.

“Marcus
”

Her voice trembled.

“The baby
”

Marcus looked at her stomach.

Then at the broken glass.

Then back at Isabella.

Something inside him changed.

Not anger.

Something colder.

Something more dangerous.

“Call the doctor,” he ordered.

Elaine Parker immediately grabbed her phone.

“Yes. Right now.”

But Isabella didn’t move.

She stood there, still wearing her crimson gown, watching the scene unfold.

She believed she was safe.

She believed Marcus would hesitate.

After all

They had known each other for years.

She had spent months convincing people that Khloe was unstable.

That Khloe was too emotional.

That the pregnancy had changed her.

And now, with a trembling voice, Isabella whispered:

“Marcus, please listen to me.”

He slowly looked up.

“Listen to what?”

Her eyes filled with fake tears.

“She attacked me.”

The room froze.

Elaine stopped dialing.

Marcus stared at her.

For three seconds.

Four seconds.

Five seconds.

Then he spoke.

“Say that again.”

Isabella swallowed.

“She attacked me.”

Marcus slowly stood.

His expression was terrifyingly calm.

“Interesting.”

He pointed toward the corner of the room.

“Because the camera above your head seems to disagree.”

Isabella’s face changed.

Only slightly.

But Marcus noticed.

Everyone noticed.

The confidence disappeared.

The color drained from her face.

“No
”

She whispered.

Marcus looked at the security camera.

“Hospital security.”

Two men in black suits appeared at the door moments later.

The hospital director followed behind them.

“Mr. Thorne.”

Marcus didn’t take his eyes off Isabella.

“Pull the footage.”

The director hesitated.

“Sir, privacy regulations—”

Marcus interrupted.

“My wife was attacked inside a private medical facility.”

His voice became colder.

“Show me the truth.”

Ten minutes later

The video appeared on the large monitor.

Nobody spoke.

Everyone watched.

Isabella walking toward Khloe.

The push.

The impact.

The fall.

The kick.

Every single second.

Every single movement.

Every single lie.

Captured forever.

Isabella watched herself destroy her own story.

Her lips parted.

“No
”

She stepped backward.

“I didn’t mean—”

Marcus turned toward her.

“You didn’t mean to?”

His eyes were empty.

“You pushed a seven-month pregnant woman into a marble table.”

Silence.

“You kicked her while she was protecting our child.”

Silence.

“And then you looked me in the eyes and lied.”

His voice lowered.

“That was the part I will never forgive.”

For the first time that night

Isabella looked afraid.

Because she finally understood.

May you like

She hadn’t attacked Khloe.

She had attacked the wrong family.
