CHAPTER 8 — The Watch Finally Stops

Six months later...

The old warehouse had become a memorial.

Flowers surrounded a bronze statue of Thomas.

The girl stood quietly before it.

Daniel rested a hand on her shoulder.

"You kept your promise."

She smiled through tears.

"I wasn't looking for revenge."

"I only wanted the truth."

She gently wound the old pocket watch one last time.

For twelve years, its hands had been frozen at 9:17—the exact minute the fire began.

This time...

The second hand moved.

Tick.

Tick.

Tick.

The watch had finally started again.
