Officer Willis frowned as Noah held the phone toward Daniel.

"I said put the phone away," he snapped.

Then the voice came through the speaker.

"I gave you an order, Officer."

The authority in the man's tone was unmistakable.

Willis hesitated.

"This is Colonel Samuel Brooks, United States Army. Badge number and full name. Now."

The officer's confidence faltered.

"This... this is Officer Ryan Willis with the Fairview Police Department."

"Good," Samuel replied calmly. "Because every second from this moment forward is being recorded."

A heavy silence settled over the street.

Neighbors who had been filming exchanged uneasy glances.

Samuel continued.

"My son is seventeen years old. He has complied with every instruction. If he has been detained, tell me the legal basis."

Willis looked at Daniel, still pinned to the pavement.

"We... we received a report about a possible child abduction."

Daniel managed to speak despite the pressure on his back.

"Someone must have mistaken Noah for someone else's child."

Noah wiped his tears.

"I'm his brother!"

The little boy rushed toward his backpack, unzipped the front pocket, and pulled out his school ID.

Then he pulled out a family photo taken just two weeks earlier.

The picture showed Daniel standing beside Noah, both smiling while Colonel Brooks rested a proud hand on each of their shoulders.

Officer Willis stared at it.

The resemblance was undeniable.

His face slowly lost its color.

Just then, another patrol car arrived.

Sergeant Lisa Morgan stepped out.

She took one look at the scene—the frightened child, Daniel lying on the pavement, neighbors recording from every direction—and immediately sensed something was terribly wrong.

"What happened here?"

Willis answered quietly.

"I... thought it was a kidnapping."

Morgan looked at Noah.

"Young man... who is he?"

"My big brother."

Her eyes moved to the family photo.

Then to Daniel.

Then to the phone.

The Colonel's voice returned.

"Sergeant, I expect my son to be standing before another word is spoken."

Morgan didn't hesitate.

"Officer Willis."
