Three months later, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
My father stood beside me in the hospital, holding his granddaughter with tears quietly running down his face.
"She's safe," he whispered.
"For the first time... she's truly safe."
Daniel never came near us again.
The videos Lena had saved destroyed every lie he tried to tell.
The recordings from my secret phone call confirmed every threat.
Medical reports documented years of abuse.
Faced with overwhelming evidence, Daniel accepted a lengthy prison sentence rather than face a public trial.
Lena testified despite knowing it would cost her career.
"It was the first brave thing I'd done in years," she told me afterward.
"It was worth everything."
Months later, I invited her to my daughter's first birthday.

As the party ended, my father smiled while watching his granddaughter take her first unsteady steps across the living room floor.
