CHAPTER 3 — The Revenge Nobody Expected

Boris arrived at his mother’s apartment the next morning in panic.

“Where is she?”

Lidia Romanovna looked confused.

“Who?”

“Yulia!”

Polina appeared from the bedroom.

“What happened?”

Boris looked terrified.

“She sold the apartment.”

Everyone froze.

“What do you mean she sold it?” Lidia shouted.

“She sold it before we could get the money.”

Polina’s face changed.

“So what happens now?”

Boris had no answer.

For the first time, he realized something.

Yulia had never been helpless.

She had simply been waiting.

That afternoon, Yulia arrived at the apartment.

Not angry.

Not crying.

Calm.

Everyone looked at her.

Polina was the first to speak.

“You ruined everything.”

Yulia looked at her.

“No.”

She smiled.

“You ruined everything when you thought you could build your happiness on someone else’s pain.”

Boris stepped forward.

“Yulia, listen—”

“No.”

Her voice was quiet.

But powerful.

“I listened for years.”

She placed a folder on the table.

Boris looked at it.

“What is that?”

“Everything.”

His face changed.

“The bank transfers.”

Silence.

“The messages.”

Silence.

“The conversations about my apartment.”

Lidia Romanovna became pale.

“You recorded us?”

“No.”

Yulia looked at her.

“I didn’t need to.”

She opened the folder.

“I heard enough.”

Boris lowered his eyes.

For the first time, he had nothing to say.

Then Yulia said the sentence that destroyed him.

“You didn’t lose me because of one mistake, Boris.”

She looked directly into his eyes.

“You lost me because every day for years, you chose the lie.”

Boris began apologizing.

He cried.

He promised he would change.

But Yulia had heard those promises before.

Just never after the truth was revealed.

Weeks later, the divorce was finalized.

Boris lost access to Yulia’s property.

The money he had secretly transferred was recovered through legal action.

Polina left when she realized Boris could no longer provide the comfortable life she expected.

And Lidia Romanovna was forced to face the consequences of protecting her son’s betrayal.

Months later, Yulia stood in front of her new home.

A place she bought with her own money.

A place where nobody could manipulate her.

A place where she could finally breathe.

A friend asked her:

“Do you regret not confronting them that day?”

Yulia smiled.

“No.”

“Why?”

“Because anger makes people act quickly.”

She looked at the peaceful street.

“But patience makes people act wisely.”

She had not destroyed Boris with revenge.

She had done something much more powerful.

She had taken back control.

The woman they thought they could deceive...

became the woman who walked away stronger.

And the people who planned to steal her future...

May you like

were left living with the consequences of their own lies.

THE END
