Chapter 1: The Secret Behind the Torn Drawing

The gallery remained silent after the famous artist lifted Lena’s damaged sketch from the marble floor.

Nobody moved.

Nobody even dared to whisper.

The man holding the drawing was not just another wealthy guest.

He was Adrian Bellamy.

A living legend.

The artist whose paintings had sold for millions.

The man who had changed modern art forever.

And now he was standing in the middle of the gallery, staring at a piece of torn paper held together by a cleaning receipt.

The gallery owner, Victor Hayes, forced a nervous laugh.

“Adrian, you’re overreacting. It’s just a child’s drawing.”

But Adrian didn’t look at him.

His eyes stayed on Lena.

“Your father taught you this technique?”

Lena slowly nodded.

She felt hundreds of eyes watching her.

For years, she had been invisible.

A cleaner.

Someone people walked past.

Someone who emptied trash cans while others discussed art worth millions.

But now the most respected artist in the room was looking at her like she was holding something priceless.

“My father used to draw every night,” Lena said quietly.

“He told me his work would prove the truth someday.”

Victor’s expression changed.

Only for a second.

But Adrian noticed.

And that was enough.

“Who was your father?” Adrian asked.

Lena hesitated.

She had not spoken his name in years.

“Thomas Reed.”

The room went completely still.

Several guests exchanged confused looks.

But Adrian’s face turned pale.

“Thomas… Reed?”

His voice became almost a whisper.

“That’s impossible.”

Lena looked down.

“Everyone said he was a fraud.”

Adrian slowly turned the sketch over.

On the back was another mark.

A small symbol hidden beneath layers of pencil.

A symbol that matched the signature from the most famous stolen painting in history.

The Lost Garden.

A masterpiece created twenty-five years ago.

A painting that disappeared before anyone could verify the artist.

Adrian had spent his entire career claiming that Thomas Reed was the true creator.

But Victor Hayes had been the one who presented the painting to the world.

Victor stepped forward.

“Adrian, you need to stop this.”

But Adrian finally looked at him.

And there was no respect left in his eyes.

Only disappointment.

“You knew.”

Victor froze.

“You knew Thomas Reed created that masterpiece.”

The gallery owner’s jaw tightened.

“You have no proof.”

Adrian raised the torn drawing.

“Not yet.”

Then he looked at Lena.

“But she does.”

That night, Lena sat in her tiny apartment, staring at the old wooden box hidden beneath her bed.

The box belonged to her father.

She had never opened it after he died.

She was too afraid.

Too afraid of finding nothing.

Too afraid that the world was right.

That her father really was forgotten.

But after what happened at the gallery...

She unlocked it.

Inside were dozens of old sketches.

Letters.

Photographs.

And one envelope with her name written across it.

“For Lena. Open this when someone finally sees the truth.”

Her hands trembled.

She opened the letter.

Her father’s handwriting filled the page.

My dear Lena,

If you are reading this, it means someone finally recognized what I created.

I never wanted fame.

I only wanted the truth.

Victor Hayes did not discover my work.

He stole it.

Lena stopped breathing.

She continued reading.

The Lost Garden was never his.

And the proof is hidden where no one would ever look.

Inside the first drawing I ever gave you.

Lena looked at the old sketches around her.

Then she found it.

A small drawing from when she was six years old.

A picture of a garden.

The same hidden symbol.

But this time...

There was something else.

A tiny handwritten message.

“The original is beneath the gallery.”

Lena stared at the words.

Because her father’s final secret was not just about proving who created a painting.

May you like

It was about revealing something much bigger.

Something Victor Hayes had spent decades hiding.
