Chapter 2: The Boy Who Knew Too Much
Ethan’s mother quickly pulled both boys away from the windows.
The restaurant manager locked the doors.
Nobody understood what was happening.
Except Noah.
He had seen this before.
“They always come at night,” Noah whispered.
Ethan looked at him.
“Who are they?”
Noah stayed silent for a moment.
Then he reached inside his damaged jacket.
From a hidden pocket, he pulled out a small broken phone.
“I took this from them.”
Ethan stared.
“What is it?”
“Proof.”
Noah turned the phone on.
The screen was cracked.
The battery was almost dead.
But there was one saved video.
Everyone gathered around.
The video showed a dark parking lot.
A man in a black jacket was speaking to another person.
“We can’t let the boy talk.”
A second voice answered.
“He already saw everything.”
Then the camera moved.
A young child appeared.
Noah’s little brother.
And beside him was the same black SUV.
Ethan’s mother covered her mouth.
“Oh my God…”
Noah looked down.
“My brother disappeared two months ago.”
Nobody spoke.
“I tried telling people,” Noah continued.
“But nobody believed me.”
His voice became smaller.
“They said I was just a homeless kid looking for attention.”
Ethan looked at him with tears in his eyes.
“But you saved me.”
Noah looked away.
“I saw the car coming.”
“You didn’t even know me.”
Noah gave a faint, sad smile.
“My brother always told me…”
He paused.
“Even if the world forgets you, you don’t stop saving people.”
Suddenly, the restaurant lights flickered.
Everyone turned.
The power had been cut.
The room went dark.
Then came a sound.
A slow knock on the front door.
Everyone froze.

A deep voice came from outside.
“We know the boy is inside.”
Ethan grabbed Noah’s hand.
The same boy who once saved him was now the one everyone needed to protect.
The restaurant manager quietly called emergency services.

“There’s another way out.”
