Chapter 1 — The Secret Hidden in the Blood Test

The underground room remained silent after Arthur’s confession.
Nobody moved.
Not even Marcus Vale.
For the first time that night, the man who had controlled everyone with fear looked uncertain.
Damian stared at Arthur.
“You created the fake DNA report?”
His voice was calm.
Too calm.
Arthur lowered his eyes.
“Yes.”
Eliza stepped closer, her hands trembling.
“Why?”
Arthur looked at Oliver.
The little boy was still holding Damian’s hand, confused and frightened by words he was too young to understand.
“Because twenty years ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life.”
A flash of lightning illuminated the room.
Arthur continued.
“When Oliver was born, Marcus discovered something that could destroy him.”
Marcus’s expression changed.
“Arthur…”
But Arthur ignored him.
“He discovered that Oliver was connected to a secret inheritance. A family trust worth hundreds of millions. If Oliver’s true identity became public, Marcus would lose everything.”
Eliza looked at Marcus with disbelief.
“You knew?”
Marcus said nothing.
That silence was an answer.
Damian stepped forward.
“You knew Oliver was my son?”
Marcus slowly smiled.
“No.”
The smile was cold.
“I knew Oliver was important.”
He looked at Eliza.
“And I knew you were willing to destroy your own life to protect him.”
Eliza’s face hardened.
“You threatened me.”
Marcus tilted his head.
“I offered you a choice.”
“You call forcing a mother to disappear a choice?”
The room grew colder.
Arthur closed his eyes.
“I was the one who helped Marcus hide the truth.”
Everyone looked at him.
Damian’s jaw tightened.
“You?”
Arthur nodded.
“I changed the records.”
“I removed Damian’s name.”
“I created the fake test.”
Oliver looked at Arthur.
“Why would you do that?”
The question was simple.
But it broke Arthur.
Because it came from a child.
A child whose entire life had been built on lies.
Arthur slowly walked forward.
“Because I was afraid.”
His voice cracked.
“I was afraid Marcus would hurt you.”
Oliver whispered:
“But you hurt me too.”
Arthur stopped.
Those words hit harder than any accusation.
Eliza covered her mouth.
Damian placed a hand on Oliver’s shoulder.
Then suddenly…
The monitors changed.
A hidden file appeared.
ORIGINAL BIRTH RECORD — OLIVER HARLOW
Arthur froze.
Marcus looked terrified.
“No.”
The file opened.
A hospital photograph appeared.
A newborn baby.
A young Eliza.
And beside her…
Damian.
The room went completely silent.
Damian stared at the image.
“That was impossible…”
Eliza looked at him.
Tears filled her eyes.
“Damian…”
Then another document appeared.
Not a DNA report.
A confession.
Recorded twenty years earlier.
Marcus Vale’s own voice filled the room.
“If Damian ever finds out the child is his, we lose everything.”
Nobody breathed.
The recording continued.
“We need the boy separated from him.”
Marcus’s face turned pale.
Because his own voice had just destroyed him.
Damian looked at Marcus.
And this time…
There was no anger.
Only disappointment.
“You took my son from me.”
Marcus stepped backward.
“You don’t understand.”
“No.”
Damian’s voice became colder.
“I understand everything.”
Chapter 2 — The Man Who Stole a Father’s Life
The storm continued above the abandoned church.
But inside the hidden room, the real storm had begun.
Marcus tried to regain control.
“You think this changes everything?”
He laughed quietly.
“You still don’t know the entire truth.”
Damian stared at him.
“What else?”
Marcus looked at Eliza.
And smiled.
“Eliza never told you what happened after Oliver was born.”
Eliza froze.
Damian turned toward her.
“What is he talking about?”
She looked away.
For years, she had carried the secret alone.
A secret she believed would destroy everyone.
Marcus stepped closer.
“Tell him.”
“Tell him why you disappeared.”
Eliza’s eyes filled with pain.
“Because I was protecting you.”
Damian frowned.
“Protecting me?”
She nodded slowly.
“The night Oliver was born… Marcus sent someone to the hospital.”
Damian became still.
“They tried to take Oliver.”
Oliver held tighter onto Damian’s hand.
Eliza continued.
“I ran.”
“I left everything behind.”
“I changed my name.”
“I raised Oliver alone because I thought if Marcus couldn’t find us… you would be safe.”
Damian’s expression broke.
“You thought losing my son would protect me?”
Eliza cried silently.
“I thought losing me was better than losing your life.”
For a moment, nobody spoke.
Then Arthur stepped forward.
“There is one more thing.”
Everyone turned.
Arthur looked at Damian.
“The reason Marcus wanted Oliver gone wasn’t only because of money.”
He pointed toward the screen.
A new file appeared.
PROJECT VALE — FAMILY LEGACY PROGRAM
Damian’s eyes narrowed.
“What is that?”
Arthur answered:
“Your father created a foundation before he died.”
“A foundation that would expose corruption inside the Vale corporation.”
Marcus’s face changed.
“You knew?”
Arthur nodded.
“Oliver was named the legal successor.”
Damian looked at Oliver.
The boy who had no idea he was carrying a legacy bigger than himself.
Marcus suddenly moved.
Fast.
He grabbed the USB drive from Eliza’s hand.
Everyone reacted.
“Stop!”
Marcus backed toward the steel door.
“You don’t understand.”
“This evidence destroys me.”
He looked at Oliver.
“And it destroys him.”
Damian stepped forward.
“You’re wrong.”
Marcus laughed.
“Am I?”
Damian looked at Oliver.
Then answered:
“He already survived losing his father once.”
“He won’t lose him again.”
Marcus hesitated.
Only for a second.
But it was enough.
Arthur reached behind him and pressed a hidden button.
The steel door locked.
Marcus turned.
“What did you do?”
Arthur looked at him.
“Finally… I chose the right side.”
Police sirens echoed from above.
Marcus’s confidence disappeared.
