Chapter 2: The Truth Hidden Inside The Mansion

The next morning, the Whitmore mansion became a battlefield.

Victoria Whitmore entered the breakfast room wearing her usual confidence.

She had controlled this family for decades.

She believed money could erase any problem.

But this time…

She was wrong.

“You need to leave,” Victoria told Elena.

The little boy immediately grabbed Elena’s hand.

“No.”

Everyone looked at him.

For the first time, the child who had always been quiet stood against his grandmother.

“I want my mommy.”

Victoria’s expression changed.

“Sweetheart, she is confusing you.”

The boy shook his head.

“She knows my favorite song.”

Silence.

“She knows the scar on my hand.”

Victoria froze.

“She knows the story about the blue blanket.”

Elena looked at her son.

She realized something.

Even though they had been separated…

A mother’s love had survived.

Alexander entered the room holding a folder.

“Mother.”

Victoria turned.

“What is that?”

“The hospital records.”

Her confidence disappeared.

Alexander placed the documents on the table.

“Five years ago, you changed the birth records.”

Victoria said nothing.

“You told Elena the baby died.”

The room became cold.

The boy looked between them, confused.

“Grandma?”

Victoria’s eyes softened for a moment.

But then she whispered:

“I did what was necessary.”

Elena stared at her.

“Necessary?”

Victoria looked at her.

“My family name was worth protecting.”

That sentence revealed everything.

She had not acted out of love.

She had acted out of pride.

But there was one more secret.

Alexander opened another document.

“The money transfer.”

Victoria’s face changed.

The document showed payments made to hospital employees.

Payments made to create the fake death record.

Payments made to erase Elena.

The entire family watched as the woman who controlled everyone finally lost control.

That evening, Elena packed her small belongings.

She had spent five years believing she had lost her child forever.

Now she had him back.

But she didn’t know if she could forgive Alexander.

“I loved you,” Alexander said quietly.

Elena stopped.

“You loved me?”

She turned around.

“Love does not watch someone suffer.”

Alexander had no answer.

The little boy walked between them.

He held both their hands.

“I don’t want mommy and daddy to fight.”

Both adults looked down.

And for the first time…

Alexander realized something.

The child he fought to protect was not asking for money.

Not power.

May you like

Not a mansion.

He only wanted his family.
