Chapter 2: The Secret Folder

The ballroom continued celebrating.
Beatrice moved from guest to guest, smiling as everyone praised her success.
“She saved Sterling,” one investor said.
“She turned a dying company into a global empire,” another replied.
Evelyn listened silently.
Every compliment was another reminder of what had been stolen.
But then, the moment she had waited for arrived.
Beatrice stepped onto the stage to announce a major expansion deal.
A deal that would make her impossible to remove.
Or so she thought.
Evelyn walked toward the main table.
In her hand was a simple black folder.
No one noticed.
No one cared.
A servant carrying documents was invisible to them.
She placed the folder beside Beatrice’s contract papers.
Then she stepped back.
Minutes later, Beatrice opened it.
Her smile disappeared.
Inside were copies of secret transfers.
Hidden payments.
Illegal agreements.
Documents proving she had manipulated company ownership after Evelyn’s father’s death.
For the first time that night…
Lady Beatrice Sterling looked afraid.
“Where did you get these?” she whispered.
Evelyn slowly stepped forward.
The entire room turned.
May you like
“I found what you spent years trying to hide.”
The ballroom went silent.
