Juliette suddenly lunged toward Christopher.
"Give me that recorder!"
He stepped aside effortlessly.
She stumbled onto the wet marble and fell to her knees.
Security guards immediately restrained her.
"This recording is fake!" she screamed.
"You edited it!"
Christopher looked almost disappointed.
"I hoped you'd say that."
He nodded toward the front entrance.
A silver-haired attorney walked into the backyard carrying a thick leather briefcase.
Behind him came two detectives.
"Anderson & Pierce Law Firm," the attorney announced.
"I was instructed by the late Eleanor Harrington to reveal the complete inheritance documents if Emma's safety was ever threatened."
Confused whispers spread through the guests.
Christopher opened the folder.
"Most people believe my company is worth a billion dollars."
He paused.
"They're wrong."
Another document appeared.
"The Harrington Family Trust is worth nearly four billion."
Juliette stared blankly.
Christopher continued.
"The money was never mine."
"It belongs to Emma."
"And according to my mother's will..."
He looked directly at Juliette.
"...any person who attempts to harm Emma automatically forfeits every legal claim to the family estate and becomes the subject of a criminal investigation."
Juliette's knees buckled.
Everything she had planned...
Everything she had married for...
Had vanished in a single sentence.
The detectives stepped forward.
"Mrs. Juliette Morgan, you're under arrest for attempted murder of a minor."
