Chapter 2: The Secret Behind The Missing Twin

The next morning, the woman went straight to Dr. Richard Hale’s private clinic.

She didn’t go as a patient.

She went as a mother.

A mother who had spent eight years grieving a child who was still alive.

The doctor looked shocked when he saw her.

“Sarah…”

She placed Lucas’ necklace on his desk.

The color disappeared from his face.

“You remember this?”

The doctor said nothing.

That silence was the answer.

Sarah stepped closer.

“You told me my second son died.”

The doctor looked away.

“I was following orders.”

Her eyes narrowed.

“Whose orders?”

The old doctor sat down slowly.

“I was paid.”

The room became silent.

“By who?”

He hesitated.

Then whispered:

“Your father.”

Sarah froze.

Her father.

A powerful businessman who had always controlled her life.

The man who wanted a perfect family image.

The man who hated anything that could damage his reputation.

The doctor continued.

“He believed raising two children would ruin your future. He wanted only one heir.”

Sarah’s hands shook.

“So he abandoned my son?”

The doctor lowered his head.

“No.”

Sarah stared.

“What do you mean?”

The doctor swallowed.

“He didn’t abandon him.”

A terrible feeling filled her chest.

“He sold him.”

Sarah stepped back.

“What?”

“Your father arranged for Lucas to disappear. A woman named Emily was paid to take him away. She was supposed to leave the city.”

The truth felt impossible.

“But Emily raised him.”

“Yes.”

The doctor looked broken.

“She tried to bring him back years later. She discovered what really happened. She wanted to tell you.”

Sarah whispered:

“But she died.”

The doctor nodded.

“She spent her last years trying to protect that boy.”

Sarah closed her eyes.

A woman she never knew had loved her son.

While the people closest to her had taken him away.

That evening, Daniel found Lucas sitting alone on the balcony.

“You hate me?”

Lucas looked surprised.

“Why would I hate you?”

“Because you got the life I should have had.”

Lucas looked down.

For a long moment, neither spoke.

Then Lucas quietly said:

“I didn’t have a family.”

Daniel looked at him.

“I had a family.”

Lucas touched the medal.

“But I had this.”

The two brothers sat together.

Different lives.

Same blood.

Same pain.

Then Sarah walked outside.

She had one more truth to reveal.

“There is someone else who knows what happened.”

Lucas looked up.

“Who?”

Sarah’s face became serious.

“Your grandfather.”

Lucas frowned.

“My grandfather?”

“He’s the reason you were taken.”

The next day, they found him.

Alexander Whitmore.

A billionaire.

A man who controlled companies across the world.

A man who had spent years pretending Lucas never existed.

When Sarah placed the necklace on his desk, his expression changed.

“You found him.”

Lucas stared.

“You knew?”

Alexander looked at the boy.

For the first time, regret appeared in his eyes.

“I knew where you were.”

Daniel clenched his fists.

“You knew my brother was alive?”

Alexander looked down.

“Yes.”

Sarah’s voice broke.

“Why?”

The old man finally answered.

“Because I was afraid.”

Everyone went silent.

“Your father wanted control. He believed Lucas would threaten the inheritance.”

Lucas laughed bitterly.

“So you let a child live on the streets?”

Alexander closed his eyes.

“I thought I was protecting the family.”

Sarah stepped closer.

“No.”

May you like

Her voice was cold.

“You destroyed it.”
