Chapter 1: The Boy Who Looked Like a Stranger

The city had always belonged to people like the Sterling family.

A world of glass towers, private clubs, luxury cars, and names that opened doors before anyone even knocked.

At the center of that world was Victoria Sterling, a woman whose reputation was built on perfection.

She was admired.

Respected.

Envied.

Her son Alexander Sterling, eight years old, was the symbol of everything she had created.

He wore custom-made clothes.

He attended the most prestigious private school.

He lived inside a mansion where every room looked like it belonged in a magazine.

Everyone believed Alexander had the perfect childhood.

But nobody knew the truth behind his birth.

Nobody knew the secret Victoria had carried for eight years.

Until the day she walked through downtown with her son.

The crowd moved around them.

Businessmen rushed past.

Tourists took pictures of the skyscrapers.

Then suddenly...

Alexander stopped.

His small hand slipped away from his mother’s.

Victoria turned.

"Alexander?"

But her son was staring across the street.

At a boy sitting beside an old building.

A boy wearing a torn jacket.

A boy with dirty hands and exhausted eyes.

A boy who looked exactly like him.

Alexander slowly whispered:

"Mom..."

Victoria looked.

And her heart stopped.

The homeless child lifted his face.

Same eyes.

Same nose.

Same expression.

It was like looking at a reflection from another life.

The boy noticed Alexander staring.

He quickly reached for something hidden beneath his jacket.

An old antique locket.

Victoria froze.

Because she knew that locket.

She had seen it before.

Eight years ago.

The night she lost her first child.

The homeless boy opened it.

Inside was a faded photograph.

Two newborn babies.

Holding hands.

Victoria's entire body went cold.

Because those babies were not strangers.

May you like

They were her sons.

Both of them.
